65536!

I suppose a normal person could have been excited about hitting 65,000 subscribers. And considering that 6 months ago, I was hoping to get to 5000 subscribers by the end of 2026, it’s certainly been a good stretch for me.

I love base-2

But for me, the exciting number was 65536.

Why? It’s 2^16!

As a kid growing up in the 80s, I programmed Z80s, 6502s, 68000s, and x86s. I did a lot of bitwise/base-2 math, and worked with a lot of double-byte data types.
