Cheap Pi (for Thanksgiving)
Taken last night, at Micro Center
In DNS filtering, I teased a future video, in which I would be loading a Raspberry Pi with Pi-hole or AdGuard Home. At this point, it looks like I’ll be doing both.
In the video, I mentioned that you could load either on a $35 RPi. A surprising number of people took issue with that. I was accused of being drunk. There was a little name calling. All very mature. However, if you’re going to get bent out of shape about something, I guess RPi prices are the hill to die on.
So, last night, purely out of curiosity, Mom, the Creative and I headed to Micro Center after dropping off one of our daughters at the airport. Above, you’ll see a 3B+ for $35. I mean, nevermind that you can load DNS filtering on a Pi Zero 2…
If you had an ethernet adapter laying around, you could even get a 3A+ for $25. What a world! Not exactly pre-pandemic pricing, but certainly not what it was during the height of the Pi shortage.
I like pie.
Happy Thanksgiving! (to my American readers/viewers)
