I got a donation! Anyone want an OpenWRT video?

Looking at the title, I can see where it’s a little cryptic.

So, it’s not uncommon for viewer to reach out via comments, email, and IG. Well, one absolute legend - Kara T., asked for my mailing address. I figured it would help to ask… “why?”

Nothing weird, just a donation.

One woman’s trash is another man’s OpenWRT video prop…

Specifically, a tp-link ER605 router. It’s not terrible, but not great. But it is on the OpenWRT firmware list. So, who wants a video on taking what would otherwise be a piece of e-waste, and giving it a new lease on life?

I guess that’s rhetorical, since I’m likely to do the video anyway.

It’s probably also time for a redo of my router videos (here and here). They’re not that old, but they are pretty embarrassing at this point. Not that my current videos are that polished, either.

I figure with as many people as seem to be interested in DNS filtering, it’s time to remind many of them that their router should be banished to the shadow realm - or at least that they should load OpenWRT on it.
