Exodus?

VPN was a massive hit for me, for sure.

What I did next was mostly motivated by fear - I moved up my video on Password Managers. It wasn’t next in my release schedule, but it was the most closely aligned with the video that had just done well.

The result was that PW is currently my second most successful video - ever.

It’s certainly not my second best video ever.

The fear I mentioned, is that the massive influx of new subscribers will have pretty significant attrition once they find out that I don’t just put out tech content. How much? Who knows, but I know that I don’t want to become a single interest creator.

So, I put out Dad Ruins AG1. And sure enough, the defections have started. The surprising thing is that I’m netting positive on subscribers. That got me thinking about a discrepancy I’d seen in my analytics - I’m up 5600 subscribers, but only 3900 sub’d from VPN directly. I think the difference is the two values are the viewers that decided to watch one (or more) other pieces of content before deciding to subscribe.

I hope that means that around 3000 subs are “safe”.

Even if that’s the case, I’m excited to have a larger base to be working from. Wild.
